Massachusetts Inventor Who Aided the Deaf

I launched my new Brookline History blog last week with this story of William E. Shaw, a deaf inventor -- largely forgotten today -- who lived and worked in Brookline, Dorchester, Lynn, and Cambridge early in the last century and was ahead of his time in the development of adaptive technologies.

Hi Ken,

I'm new here to the MA Studies Network. I'm interested in the work you've done in Brookline as I work full time in Coolidge Corner for NEC pianist and Brookline resident, Ran Blake.

Ran has been in the area for quite some time and has many fascinating stories, documents and memories of Brookline.

I hope to learn more about the Brookline Historical Society.
